Muay Thai Boran Punches 3: Wanorn Hak Dan

Welcome to our blog! Are you ready for our next Muay Thai Boran’s Cherng Mud. Again Cherng Mud basically means “how to punch”. So if now you are really into Muay Thai and want to know everything about Muay Thai, this article will be a good help for you. Pay attention and continue coming to this blog at least once a week to learn a new move and give it a regular practice.

The move of Muay thai punch today is a swinging punch. The name given and called in the past is Wanorn Hak Dan. Again this move can be use for everything; attacking, defending or even escaping for any attack. Let’s take a look at how to do the move so you can do it easily later by yourself.

First you have to swing your right hand to deliver a traverse hit towards the targets, such as, your opponent’s jaw or left part of the ribcage. Then you will have to step forwards with your left foot and use it to support the weight of your body. In the meantime, your right leg will be the secondary support and will be posted at the rear. And remember the power will be driven from a twist of your body and shoulders to the right fist as you are throwing it to your opponent.

Defense: The boxer’s right punch is thwarted with a sweep of the left hand.

Attack: Anticipating the oncoming traverse punch, the opponent throws a quick straight punch with his right hand to the boxer’s chin. This is immediately followed by a kick to the boxer’s right rib with the left knee. If the boxer uses his left hand to deliver the swinging fist, then the punches and the kicks used for Attacking and countering the attacks should be reversed.
